Dua Lipa and Drew Barrymore suffer a VERY awkward stumble as they hug on

Time:2024-05-17 19:23:55

Dua Lipa and Drew Barrymore lost their balance and nearly fell over on stage as they hugged in front of hundreds of fans while filming an interview for The Drew Barrymore Show.

The television host, 49, sat down with Dua, 28, to discuss her latest album, Radical Optimism, at New York's Talent Unlimited High School - where she also praised singledom despite being in a relationship with British star Callum Turner, 34.

But as they fawned over one another and their collective new moniker 'Drua,' they shrieked and stumbled backwards.

Proving their professionalism, they quickly regained their composure and laughed it off as wrapped up the show.

'Ladies and gentlemen, Radical Optimism is out,' she said to cheers from the audience.

'And I just want to thank the talented Unlimited High School for this extraordinary bucket list opportunity. Thank you so much.

'And I can't believe I got to be a part of this, too. Thank you, everybody.'

During the pre-recorded interview, which aired on Thursday's show, Drew asked Dua how people should feel about being single.

The singer, who has been dating Callum for five months, replied: 'I think singledom is so important.

'I feel like so often when we find ourselves that we're single, we wish our singledom away looking for someone.

'Whereas when you're alone, who you are in the silence, when you're doing things that only you want to do, when you're taking care of yourself, to hang out with the people that you love without wondering what someone else might want from you, you're constantly taking care of you - that's when you do your most learning.'

She continued: 'You're so self-sufficient that when somebody does come along, you're not codependent, nor are you looking for a relationship that's codependent or needing something of you, because you can both be independent in your own.

'And when you come together, it's wonderful. So that time that's spent alone is so vital to your growth, and so important to enjoy the time that you have with yourself.'

Dua then went on to admit that she has been on a journey of learning to love herself.

'When you're younger, you have all kinds of insecurities, and you're learning to love yourself every day,' she said.

'But to me, I'm like, if I can love myself a little bit more every day, be thankful for my body that's brought me here, that allows me to do what I love, that allows me to travel and dance and perform, I should be grateful for it.

'And you kind of pick a thing that you love about yourself, and how you are with other people.'

Dua has been linked to Masters of the Air actor Callum since January when the IDGAF singer was pictured with him at the premiere after-party for the Apple TV show.

In February, they looked smitten as they attended the Grammys' after-party together, just weeks before they were photographed in a romantic embrace while driving to a Brit Awards after-party.

On Monday, Dua went Instagram official with their romance after posting a photo showing her with her arm around the actor as they walked down a street.

She captioned the shot: 'Sunshineeeeeee.'
